My wacom intuos3 died 2 days ago after spilling a bit of water on it, tried it out today and to my surprise it resurrected itself!
Pretty happy being as I've had it for about 4 years and can't afford another one, only problem is everything is working except for one button which I use a lot (the make brush bigger button). It doesn't work when I click it but it randomly decides that it's best that my brush suddenly grows to it's maximum size -__-' on occasion.
Anyway rant over, here's something random done in photoshop after messing about with tablet to check that it's working aiiiight. :)

Idea behind it is a travelling soldier crash landed on an barren desert planet which appears to be void of any life but is riddled with ruins and ancient artifacts. She is alone and searching for a way off the planet and back to her home.

Wanted to make it into a cover for a comic, inspiration once again from the master 'Moebius'

Got the scanner up and running, it's terrible, thank god for photoshop.

The bottom colour drawings were me testing out these "graphitint" pencils that didn't really work very well or agree much with the paper. The rest are all done with a 5b pencil

plus my trusty wacom tablet that's been with me for 4 good years i fear is bugging on me, halfway through drawing i realised the cursor is vibrating from left to right erratically, no idea why, guess it's old age :(
Ah well I've been drawing a lot lately with 5B pencils and using my lightbox for the first time since i bought it 2 years ago LOL! It's like photoshop...but more awesome who would have known? Once i dust the cobwebs off my scanner i'll post them up :)

So yea i haven't posted anything in a while, well basically with having to move back to Cardiff plus finding a new flat (which we got now woo) and also trying to find a job and also living in a cluttered room full of boxes and suitcases with barely enough room for my girlfriend and i..well there hasn't been much time or feeling to draw anything.

If i can make enough room to get the scanner setup i'll get some doodles up.

So i did some animation for the first time in ages, my girlfriend helped me out with how to work flash <3 (my memory is absolute garbage) and i lazily got on with some straight ahead animation, was fun to see little accidents and uncertainties turn into something that sort of works.

My attention span eventually gave out but i might finish this at a later date, maybe with some sort of plan first. <: 0

I always draw something each day then lose mental stamina after it, especially after something chore like, like doing figure studies or something i'm really happy with so i thought today i'd push myself a bit and draw as much as i could or atleast try and fight that feeling of lethargy you get after concentrating hard on a drawing and

Been a good day, woke up early for my second driving lesson oh yeaaa, went to Spain with the fam and took some interesting photos of the market in La Linea came back slacked off drawing by playing 3rd strike: OE then had a nap....and eventually got inspired and did something productive. :>

Been a while since i've drawn/coloured in this way, lots of fun but anyway Vpugjk dressed in the local garb of the place he ended up in. Was gonna add a samurai esque hair bob but decided to scrap it. Those boots are awesome to draw, i want a pair <=0

'Vpugjk the Lost' Concepts #2

Two more pages before bed, story so far is hardly there but anyway, Vpugjk falls through a wormhole that appears under him in the desert into a world strange to him. He's either held captive and then freed by the authorities/lives with them for a while and is accepted/or lands and maybe a day later falls through another mysterious wormhole

So yea everything is forming as i draw so there's no concrete story or design as of yet. But it's been pretty fun so far

Bit of an experiment haven't scanned in any pencil stuff in ages so i wanted to see what the difference would be like between a hand inked drawing and a digital one, i loved the brush pen one at first but then the tidyness and accuracy of the digital one stomped on it so i dunno, definitely easier and more fun to ink using a real pen even if it's not 100% perfect, there's a nice quality to it.
